A new interactive pop-up celebrates the spirit of aloha selfie-style at Ala Moana Center.
The Museum of Aloha consists of Instagram-worthy photo ops. Visitors can roam through a forest of lei, get showered by a confetti volcano, pose in front of life-sized angel wings, and more.
It’s been a popular traveling exhibit over the past six months on Oahu with stops at Pearlridge Center and Ka Makana Alii in Kapolei.
“All these different selfie museums are coming out where people are taking photos of themselves, friends, families, and posting them on Instagram and Facebook, and so it’s a trend on the mainland. I thought I’d bring it to Hawaii and put an aloha spin on it,” said owner David Nagamine.
The pop-up is open Mondays through Saturdays, 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays and holidays, 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
It’s located on the street level near Centerstage and will be open through Jan. 13.
General admission is $15 ($10 for kamaaina), children ages 3 to 12 $10 ($8 for kamaaina), and children 2 years and younger get in free.
During the museum’s grand opening weekend, Oct. 20 and 21, and Halloween night, from 4 to 9 p.m., kids get in free with each paying adult.
