Hawaian Electric reports Monday that, at some point on Sunday, approximately 13,000 customers were without power due to weather-related outages, but not all at the same time.

Most were restored by the end of the day, but some customers in Kaneohe-Kahuluu and Portlock in Hawaii Kai continued to experience intermittent outages through the night.

Most of those in turn were restored Monday morning, with the last Windward customers restored by about 2 p.m. Monday.

Multiple power outages totalled around 25 on the windward side of Oahu Sunday.

Seven outages were also reported in the Hahaione, Hawaii Kai, Kuliouou and Waimanalo areas.

In a statement released around 4:25 p.m. Sunday, HECO says “the situation has been fluid as some customers may have experienced several momentary flickers or a prolonged outage.”
