Honolulu police responded to a Monday morning call of a multiple vehicle crash on the H-2 Freeway southbound near the Meheula overpass.

The call came in 7:17 a.m.

A vehicle driven by a 70-year-old man crossed the center median into oncoming traffic, causing a chain of collisions that involved four other vehicles.

Paramedics treated six patients at the scene, but three refused treatment. The other three, the 70-year-old driver, and two other drivers, both women ages 27 and 44, were transported to an emergency room.

The 70-year-old driver was taken in critical condition, but improved at the hospital. The two other drivers were taken in serious condition and there is no word on their current condition.

Neither speed or alcohol appear to be factors of the accident.
