More reports point to Holloway’s UFC title defense in December

As we first told you in August, Waianae’s Max Holloway appears to be in the main event of UFC 231 in Toronto.

USA Today’s MMA Junkie was the first to report that Holloway would defend his title against Brian Ortega on Dec. 8, citing two people with knowledge of the development.

Now TSN in Canada is also reporting the matchup, citing UFC sources.

Holloway was originally supposed to face the top contender on July 7 in Las Vegas, but was forced to withdraw due to medical concerns.

Holloway recently confirmed that he has been cleared by doctors to return.

The UFC has yet to make an official announcement.
