Hawaiian Electric Company reported Monday morning that 350 customers were without power in the Kalihi area last evening.

HECO said the outage was due to a metallic balloon.

Power was restored to customers at 1:20 a.m. Monday.

The outage was first reported around 5:50 p.m. Sunday.

Traffic lights in the area were also affected by the outage. Honolulu police officers were directing traffic at the intersection of King Street and Mokauea Street.

One lane was closed on Gulick Avenue as HECO crews worked to restore power.

Another power outage was reported at 5:15 a.m. Monday that temporarily affected traffic lights at Nimitz and Kalihi.
