NEW YORK (CNN) – They call him Hulk. A pit bull whose size is so incredible he seems destined to become the world’s biggest pit bull once he’s done growing.
Hulk sure seemed to grow on New Yorkers during his whirlwind tour. The gentle giant turned media darling.
With his towering height, those sensitive eyes — no wonder New York is bullish on this pit bull.
Who wouldn’t want to meet Hulk? He’s one of the largest pit bulls on earth and, at 18 months, still growing.
Hulk makes a weighty impression. He’s 175 pounds.
Normally he lives up on a farm in New Hampshire, the home of Dark Dynasty K9s where Marlon and Lisa Grennan breed guard dogs.
Like the TV hulk, Hulk has his tough side. But most of the time he’s so placid, he let his owner’s son ride him and just plopped down during his TV appearances.
Hulk is so “chill” that he tends to sleep right through it when the boy pulls on his tongue.
The Grennans want people to know that even a giant pit bull isn’t vicious.
“He’s mellow. With these dogs its all about leadership and how you raise them, rules, boundaries, limits, you know,” Marlon explains.
One of Hulk’s peculiarities is howling to the harmonica. Though Hulk was reluctant to sing on The View.
Hulk is also constantly sized up.
“Twenty-seven and three quarters is fair,” Grennan said measuring his head.
Hulk seemed like a breed apart from all the New York City dogs dressed in their winter coats. Yet we discovered from Lisa that “one of his best friends is our five pound chihuahua.” This big bruiser seems to have a taste for little dogs.
When Hulk the pit bull met Max the toy poodle, instead of dining on Max, Hulk tried to sniff both ends of the poodle. The poodle’s jacket would probably fit Hulk as a hat.
