Maui’s transportation department will be testing an all-electric bus along different routes this week.
The vehicle is on loan from Proterra Inc.
The vehicle just finished a pilot project on 23 routes throughout Oahu.
It’s now on Maui for a three-day test run on routes in upcountry, west and south Maui.
The public cannot ride it during testing.
The 40-foot vehicle is very quiet.
It has zero emissions, and it runs on electric batteries.
