Maui County officials to hold community meeting to discuss Lane and brush fires

Community members are invited to a meeting Wednesday night to discuss the impacts of Lane and a recent string of brush fires over the weekend.

Several schools suffered flooding and fire damage but all have reopened.

Meanwhile crews also need to deal with a massive sinkhole in Haiku that’s expected to take months to fix.

Wednesday’s meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. at Lahainaluna Gymnasium.

Officials from the mayor’s office, Maui Electric Company and other agencies will be in attendance.
