The popular Manoa Falls Trail and the Ai’hua’lama trail will reopen Monday.
The state closed the trails for the last two weeks after a landslide sent a 800-pound boulder crashing down on the Ai’hua’lama Trail near the falls.
Officials say the rocks came from an ancient lava flow far above the trail and they found more boulders at risk of getting loose.
The state says the crews stabilized the area and both trails are now safe but they urge hikers to use caution and avoid the trails after heavy rain.
