Honolulu firefighters responded to a two-alarm building fire in Nuuanu early Thursday morning.
The fire broke out around 2:30 a.m. in a unit of the Queen Emma Gardens condominium complex on 1511 Nuuanu Avenue, across from the YMCA.
It was reported that the fire was on the seventh floor of the Prince Tower. The fire alarm was activated and the residents evacuated the 12-story building.
The fire was brought under control at 2:50 a.m. and fully extinguished by 3:02 a.m. One adult male was located in the unit and was treated and transferred to Emergency Medical Services personnel at 3:06 a.m.
After spending close to an hour outside, the residents were allowed to return to their units.
The fire is under investigation. The cause of the fire has not been determined and the damage estimate is not available at this time.
