Kauai police are investigating the death of a man who was found dead on the cliffside of Waimea Canyon Drive, Tuesday afternoon. 

Police were called to Waimea Canyon Drive around 6 p.m. 

A bystander was scouting the area for goats when the body was discovered 200 feet below.

Emergency personnel were unable to gain access to the area that day due to dangerous terrain and pending nightfall.

The next morning, the Kauai Fire Department and Police Department began to recover the body and managed to do so around 4 p.m. 

An autopsy is being scheduled to identify the man and determine the cause of death. 

The incident remains under police investigation.
