Loud booms strong enough to rattle the windows – that’s what some Waianae and Maili residents say they were experiencing for hours Friday.
Turns out, the booms were coming from demolition training at Schofield Barracks.
However, residents say they were given no prior warning the noisy training was going to happen.
Advisories are posted online to let the public know beforehand about disruptive training.
However, Army officials say, “This schedule is subject to change based on environmental and other factors.”
In the case of the demolition training, it was not on the schedule previously, but an advisory was added online Friday morning.
The training is expected to end by 5 p.m. Friday.
