Local solar company ordered to pay fines for misrepresentation

News

A local solar company has been ordered to pay $38,000 in fines.

The Dept. of Commerce and Consumer Affairs says Alternate Energy misrepresented information relating to requirements for connecting photo voltaic systems.

The company serves customers on Oahu and Maui and states that it is a third-generation family-owned and operated business that’s been around for more than 30 years.

The DCCA provided no further comment on the matter and calls to Alternate Energy were not returned.
