Kapiolani Medical Center’s Chief Canine Officer Winnie has marked two years on the job.
As a hospital facility dog, Winnie works full-time Monday through Friday at the hospital.
She is trained to work in a hospital setting, helping to provide comfort and promote healing for the hospital’s pediatric patients.
Winnie and the services she provides is supported by Kapiolani’s Animal-Assisted Therapy Fund.
As Hawaii’s only Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, the facility benefits from numerous fundraising activities that help pediatric patients get the best care when they need it.
Children’s Hospitals Week is taking place from March 18-24.
During Children’s Hospital Week, you can show your support by making a donation and by wearing a bandage, taking a photo and posting it to Instagram with #ChildrensHospitalsWeek.
All of the funds raised in Hawaii during this week stay local and support Kapiolani programs and services like our Child Life Program, Critical Care Transport, the purchase of specialized equipment, and help support having Winnie at the hospital.
