The names of some of the top officials at the University of Hawaii are being used in a scam.
The scammers are using fake emails pretending to be President David Lassner and others, asking recipients to purchase gift cards.
Other scam e-mails ask to fill out a “personnel satisfaction survey” in an effort to gain access to UH username and password information.
Officials warn people to not fall for this.
They say double check the sender’s e-mail address, if it’s not from an official UH e-mail, it’s probably a scam.
