The suspect in a deadly crash on the H-1 Freeway back in April has changed her plea.

Chantel Andrade pleaded guilty to accident involving death or serious bodily injury.

It is a felony crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Andrade originally pleaded not guilty to the charge in August, after a grand jury indicted her for a crash that killed 25-year-old Keith Jantoc.

Police say Jantoc was riding a motorcycle on the H-1 Freeway near Waikele when he was hit by an SUV.

A police source told KHON2 that upon impact, the SUV dragged Jantoc about a half-mile before coming to a tragic end just beyond the Kunia on-ramp.

Andrade eventually turned herself into HPD.

In July, a warrant was issued for Andrade’s arrest when she failed to show up for a court hearing.

State sheriffs arrested her in Hilo after she turned herself in.

She will be sentenced in mid-January 2016.
