A man was hospitalized Friday after falling dozens of feet near Pali Highway.
The call came in at 10:05 a.m. in the town-bound direction of the highway, a half-mile before Waokanaka Street.
The Honolulu Fire Department says the man was a pig hunter who got injured on the trail and needed help.
He had fallen a distance of between 30 and 50 feet, officials said.
Firefighters were able to stabilize him on a board and carry him to the highway.
According to Emergency Medical Services, the 40-year-old suffered multiple injuries.
He was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
