HONOLULU (KHON2) - Hawaii Department of Transportation reports Kamehameha Highway at the Waikane Stream is shut down in both directions due to flooding Friday.
A flash flood warning is in effect for Oahu as heavy rain continues to downpour on the windward side of the island. The National Weather Service reported the flash flood warning is in effect until at least 10:45 a.m.
At 8:14 a.m. the Waikane Sream gage showed water levels rising almost 5 feet in 30 minutes.
Radar showed heavy rainfall continuing from Waihee to Kahuku. The area of rainfall has been nearly stationary.
