Honolulu police have captured a man with 10 prior convictions.

John Hesia, 43, was arrested on May 9 on Kuhonu Place in Kaneohe.

He was wanted on a $50,000 warrant for not showing up for his HOPE warning hearing last month.

“On Aug. 29, 2014, at 8:55 a.m., officers observed a male sitting in front of times in Kaneohe,” said Crimestoppers Sgt. Kim Buffett. “They recognized the male from previous drug-related incidents, identified him as Hesia and started to approach him. As he approached Hesia started to hide contents behind his backpack that was sitting on the table. As officers approached they noticed drug and drug paraphernalia.”

Hesia was arrested for the drugs.
