HONOLULU (KHON2) - The Great Aloha Run is kicking off its 35th year with a bang.
Dozens gathered at Tamarind Park in downtown Honolulu Friday to register early for the annual Presidents Day run.
Entrants were treated to free food, entertainment, and prizes.
"We started in 1985 and to date, we've given over $14 million away to 150 charities in Hawaii only. We only exist to give to Hawaii charities," said event co-founder Carole Kai.
The Great Aloha Run takes place Feb. 18.
More than 22,000 people are expected to participate.
