Closing statements were made by mother-son duo charged with hundreds of counts of animal cruelty

Local News

Closing statements were made today in the trial of David and June Moore.

They’re the owners of the Makaha Shelter “Friends for Life” — Where more than 300 dogs were seized because they were found to be living in poor conditions.

The two were charged with numerous counts of cruelty to animals.

An attorney for the Moores said they meant to do what’s best for the dogs — But got overwhelmed.

The case will then head to the jury’s hands after that.
