The city’s Department of Parks and Recreation got a head start on Valentine’s Day celebrations with its 47th Annual Seniors Valentine Dance.
About 1,000 seniors from around the island enjoyed music and dancing at the Neal S. Blaisdell Exhibition Hall Tuesday morning.
Entertainment was provided by emcee Tony Silva of Da Bruddahs, as well as music from the Royal Hawaiian Band.
Students from Kapolei and Washington middle schools joined seniors on the dance floor.
KHON2’s own Trini Kaopuiki, Kelly Simek and Brigette Namata took part in the popular “Celebrity Dance.” Local celebrities partnered with seniors for a whirl on the dance floor.
The event was free and open to the public.
