Starting May 15, residents from Foster Village to Hawaii Kai now have to schedule an appointment for bulky item pick up.
It’s part of a pilot program that starts on June 3, where scheduled pickup service will be suspended for those areas. It only affects Foster Village to Hawaii Kai.
Everyone else will still have regularly scheduled pick ups.
Single-family homes are able to schedule up to five items per pick up.
The city hopes the project will help to better manage bulky waste pick up.
