Body found bound with duct tape

Local News

Police have opened a murder investigation after a body was found bound with duct tape on a mountain trail.

Police were called to the scene around 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, at the intersection of Aleka Place and Old Kalanianaole Road.

“He has not be identified at this time so we don’t know who he is yet. So if the public has any info they can call CrimeStoppers if they wish to…But at this point, he’s just an adult male is all we have,” said Honolulu Police Department Deena Thoemmes.

Officials say it took 10 to 15 minutes to hike in to get to the scene.

The body has been retrieved and the investigators hiked down before it got dark.

According to HPD, the trail is big enough for vehicles so they don’t know if people walk-in or drive-in.
