Larry Price to leave ‘Perry and Price’ radio show after 33 years

After 33 years, Larry Price is leaving KSSK’s top-rated “Perry and Price” morning radio show.

iHeartMedia Honolulu confirmed Price’s departure Wednesday.

Price will launch a new sports show later this month on sister station FOX Sports 990 with Rick Hamada, which will air Saturdays at 11 a.m.

“I decided the time is right and appropriate to make this change,” said Price. “I am grateful for the support of our loyal listeners and for all the great years on KSSK, and I am excited about the opportunity to talk sports with Rick on our new FOX Sports 990 station.”

“After 33 years of the early morning routine, Larry certainly deserves the opportunity to sleep a little more, and work a little less,” said longtime radio partner Michael W. Perry. “I look forward to talking story with him in our office every day, as always, and hearing him and ‘that other guy’ on our ‘Best of Saturday Morning’ shows!”

“Larry is an amazing ambassador for us in Hawaii and we’ve been so fortunate to have him and Michael paired together for a third of a century,” said Chuck Cotton, president and general manager for iHeartMedia Honolulu. “Coach and Michael have set the bar very high. While we will miss hearing Larry every morning on KSSK, our listeners can look forward to continuing to spend mornings with Michael and the KSSK Posse.”

Perry will continue to host the morning show solo, as well as the Saturday Morning Show at Jade Dynasty.

When there isn’t a live show on Saturdays, KSSK will continue to broadcast “The Best of Saturday Morning Shows” from the KSSK radio vault of Saturday shows featuring Price and Perry and celebrity guests.

iHeartMedia Honolulu stations include KSSK AM590/FM92.3; Island 98.5; Star 101.9; 93.9 Jamz; Evolution Hawaii 99.1; KHVH News Radio 830; and FOX Sports 990.
