A popular landmark in Waimanalo has been knocked over and is drawing questions from the community.
The Akebono statue at the Waimanalo Town Center is down.
KHON2 was told it happened Friday, but that it’s not vandalism.
Akebono is a yokozuna, or a sumo grand champion, from Waimanalo.
The statue has a following, and some in the community are hoping it can be repaired.
