All motions to dismiss the case against federal agent Christopher Deedy have been thrown out.
His lawyer, Thomas Otake, filed four motions, the first of which was denied by Judge Karen Ahn Monday.
On Friday, we learned the other three were also denied.
Last August, a jury found Deedy not guilty of murder in the shooting death of Kollin Elderts in Waikiki in 2011.
But it couldn’t reach a decision on the lesser charges of reckless manslaughter and assault.
“We’re obviously disappointed in the court’s ruling. However we look forward to an immediate appeal,” Otake said. “We know the appellate court will follow the law, at which point in time, we’re confident this case will never be tried again.”
If Deedy goes to trial, it would be his third in connection with Elderts’ death.
