Hurricane Walaka to impact winds bringing week-long hot and humid conditions

News

Get ready for muggy conditions, the beautiful trade wind weather will once again leave us starting Tuesday.

Blue skies and sunshine will be the theme Monday with winds about 15 miles per hour throughout the day.

We’re continuing to monitor Hurricane Walaka, it is not a threat to Hawaii but it will slightly influence our weather.

Walaka strengthened into a major hurricane overnight and is expected to intensify into a Category 4 storm Monday afternoon.

Hurricane Walka is forecast to pass well to the west of the state, which will shift our winds.

The winds will come from the southeast as early as Tuesday, so expect hot and humid conditions.

Trade winds will be gone Tuesday and are forecast to return next Monday.
