Hurricane Walaka remains Category 5 storm bringing hot and humid conditions to the islands

Hurricane Walaka remains far to the southwest of Hawaii but is drifting north Tuesday morning.

Walaka remains a powerful Category 5 storm and will weaken as eventually pass west of the state Wednesday around 8 p.m. as a Category 4 system.

Hurricane Walaka is not a threat to the Hawaiian Islands but it will influence weather patterns.

We’re expected to see light east and light southeasterly winds so be prepared for hot and humid conditions with light to scattered showers.

Trade winds to return Monday.
