Hot, humid and rainy conditions expected Wednesday, flash flood watch remains in effect for Kauai

It’s setting up to be a warm, muggy and rainy Wednesday in Hawaii.

A trough continues to be dragged over the state and the moisture associated with it is looming just beyond Kauai.

The heaviest of showers are just offshore of Kauai County Wednesday morning. A flash flood watch has been extended for Kauai County as threats for thunderstorms and heavy rainfall continues.

Rainfall amounts are expected to increase. On Oahu, rainfall is expected to ramp-up in the afternoon hours with a 60 percent chance of precipitation. Chances of rainfall will continue through Thursday.

Trade winds to return late Thursday and will be back in full force on Friday.

Sunshine and drier weather if forecast throughout the weekend.
