Honolulu Zoo reopens following water main break

The Honolulu Zoo reopened Thursday following a water main break on the edge of the facility’s stage lawn the day before.

The break had left most of the zoo without water.

The city says it assessed the situation at the end of Wednesday and determined the problem has been resolved.

Repairs to a water main break on a 2-inch galvanized pipe will continue, however the break has been temporarily bypassed, which means water service to the zoo will not be impacted.
