Honolulu Fire Dept. rescues two hikers from Puu Manamana Trail


Honolulu Fire Department will resume rescue efforts Thursday morning for two hikers that were lost Wednesday along the Puu Manamana Trail. 

HFD responded to two men in their 30’s that were lost and need help to exit the trail. 

The hikers reported no injuries and were instructed to shelter in place until rescue operations would resume at first light. 

Rescue operations resumed at 5:45 a.m.  HFD performed an aerial rescue and separately air lifted each hiker to the landing zone at Swanzy Beach Park.

One male was reported to be a resident and the other a visitor.
