Hawaii’s voyaging canoe Hokulea is on the move again, having left Miami, Florida, on Sunday for her next destination on malama honua, the voyage around the world.
Hokulea was moored in Miami for more than two weeks for re-provisioning and preparations for this leg to panama, with several stops along the way.
First stop on Sunday was in Key Largo, then Monday afternoon in Key West.
Afterward the crew will head into the Caribbean, ultimately through the Panama Canal.
Hokulea arrives home to Hawaii in June of 2017.
