Police have reopened Bishop St. in downtown Honolulu after an electrical short circuit.
The call initially came in as a possible underground fire. The road was closed at Merchant St. just after 1 p.m. as emergency crews responded.
According to Hawaiian Electric, there was a short circuit in underground lines. No power outage occurred.
While HECO crews remained at the scene, the road was reopened about a half-hour later.
No one was hurt.
Officials have not said what caused the short circuit.
