HONOLULU – The College Football Sydney Cup featuring Hawai’i and California will be televised on either ESPN or ESPN2, Friday, Aug. 26 at 4:00 p.m. HT.

The game will kick-off the 2016 college football season and will be played in Sydney on Saturday, Aug. 27 at 12:00 p.m. local time at the 83,500-seat ANZ Stadium. The contest will be the first-ever American football game played in Sydney and just the third in Australia.

UH and Cal will meet for the fifth time and first since 1994. The series, which began in 1935, is tied at 2-2.

Hawai’i will make five appearances on national television in 2016. Following the Cal game, the Rainbow Warriors will make its first-ever trip to Ann Arbor, Mich., to take on Michigan on Saturday, Sept. 3 in a game televised on ESPN. UH’s game at Arizona on Saturday, Sept. 17 will air on the Pac-12 Networks while a pair of Mountain West contests will be televised on CBS Sports Network – at San Diego State, Saturday, Nov. 5 and versus Boise State, Saturday, Nov. 12.
