Honolulu police and CrimeStoppers have found Syres Kauai, who was previously arrested for driving a stolen moped.

“On September 18, 2015, at about 2:20 p.m., plain-clothes officers observed a moped driver on Kapiolani Boulevard commit several traffic violations,” said CrimeStoppers Sgt. Kim Buffett. “They followed the moped to Walmart on Keeaumoku and as he was about to park approached him, identified him as Kauai and noticed the ignition was tampered with and ran a check of the moped and found it had been reported stolen from the Kalihi area.”

Kauai was wanted on a $50,000 warrant for not showing up for his deferral review hearing back in April.

“He does have one prior conviction and is known to frequent the Ewa Beach area,” Buffett added.

He was arrested on July 14, at approximately 4:30 p.m., at 465 Lagoon Drive.
