Hawaii’s Debate: How can the people of Hawaii trust you with their money?

News

Question from Andria Tupola, R, to Gov. David Ige, D, both candidates for governor:

“For all four years of your administration, you received an F grade in fiscal accountability on a national, non-partisan report. The governors who raised the most taxes and spent the most dropped the lowest grades. In the past four years, your administration left almost half a billion dollars of federal funds on the table, whether it was you disagreed or you guys didn’t spend it down or whether we just didn’t apply for it at all. How can the people of Hawaii trust you with their money for the next four years?”
