Hawaii Island police report issues with phone system at main Kona station

The Hawaii Police Department reports having telephone difficulties with their system at the Kealakehe Main Kona Police station.

Those seeking assistance from police should contact 935-3311 for non-emergencies, and 911 for emergencies.

The Hawaii Police Department sent a notice to the public Saturday evening.

As for those wishing to leave a message for a specific officer, employee or supervisor, you can call 327-0045 extension 253.

No word on when the police station’s phone system will return back to normal.
