Hawaii gas prices edge higher

AAA Hawaii says gas prices rose for the sixth straight week.

The statewide average is $3.49 which is three cents more than last week.  

It’s 40 cents more than prices one year ago.

The average for a gallon of regular gas in Honolulu is $3.34.

Hilo’s average price is $3.54.

“According to a new survey by AAA, 66 percent of drivers in the Western United States say they would change their driving habits if gas prices reached $4 a gallon,” said AAA Hawaii General Manager Liane Sumida.

The average price for a gallon of regular in Lihue is $3.62.

It’s $3.92 in Wailuku, Maui.
