Hawaii experiencing high wind warnings across the state

High wind warnings have been extended through the entire island chain, effective until 6:00 a.m. Monday.    Winds are currently flowing from the West at 25 to 40 m.p.h. with gusts reaching as high as 60 m.p.h.

Winds will be strongest over and downslope from the higher terrain, and where most efficiently funneled around the terrain and through valleys.  Winds this strong can make driving hazardous, cause damage to roofs and poorly built structures, and result in flying debris. Additionally, downed trees can be expected along with widespread power outages.
