Hawaii Emergency Management Agency urges all residents to be prepared

The Hawaii Emergency Management Agency is reminding residents to use the day to take care of storm preparations and get their hurricane kits ready.

“It’s important that everyone has 14 days of food, water, and a tank of gas. If you haven’t done that, it’s time to do that,” advised administrator Tom Travis.

He also urges the public not to be fixated on Olivia’s track, but to prepare for the worst.

“This storm could directly impact every area of the state, from South Point all the way to the north shore of Kauai,” Travis warned.

In addition to our newscasts, KHON2 will air hourly updates on Tropical Storm Olivia on-air and online through the 11 p.m. update from the Central Pacific Hurricane Center.
