Much drier weather is in the Halloween forecast, after flooding rains drenched the state yesterday.
A surface trough will linger in the island vicinity for another day or so then dissipate, keeping winds light. The main upper level feature that brought dynamics to the low level system is in the process of lifting northeast, allowing the atmospheric conditions to improve somewhat.
The airmass is still moist and somewhat unstable, which will lead to clouds and showers at times, especially during the afternoon and evening.
The threat of heavy rain has diminished, so the Flood Watch has been canceled.
Trade winds will return Thursday through the weekend, with a drier airmass spreading across the area.
