Haleiwa Farmers Market has been named one of the best farmers markets in the nation.
The weekly North Shore event was named by “Cooking Light” magazine as one of America’s 50 best farmers markets, coming in 22nd place.
The publication cites Honolulu chef and restaurateur Ed Kenney, who praises the market’s proximity to farms and good farmer turnout. “It’s a really tight-knit beach community, so it’s a place where you can always find friends, family, and good food,” he said.
Haleiwa Farmers Market takes place every Thursday, 2-6 p.m. in Waimea Valley.
The publication recommends coming early to walk through the botanical gardens to the waterfall and back to the pavilion for the market.View the listing on CookingLight.com.
