The stars of the new movie “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” are back in Hawaii!
KHON2’s Kristine Uyeno sat down with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Nick Jonas to chat about the movie, which opens in theaters Dec. 20.
Black called Hawaii “paradise,” while Hart said filming in the islands was “amazing.”
Johnson lived in Hawaii and still calls the islands home. As a local boy, he said he enjoyed bringing jobs and supporting the local economy in Hawaii.
“The best part that I’m always proud of is to bring good friends here, and they bring their families, and then they feel the aloha spirit, and it’s always very, very special, very magical,” he said. “Every time they leave, they don’t want to leave. So again, I’m very proud of that, and it’s awesome.”
“You guys should be very proud of your own, because he speaks highly of Hawaii,” Hart said. “He made sure that we were educated, and made sure that we understood the environment that we were in, and we were blessed with the spirit of the people. So you’ve got a good guy representing you.”
KHON2’s Kelly Simek is a big fan of Jonas and he had a special message to her.
