Flood advisory issued for portions of Hawaii Island through 1:45 AM Wednesday

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a flood advisory for the Big Island until 145 AM Wednesday HST. 
At 1042 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain along the Hamakua coast  from Laupahoehoe to Upolu Point. 

Rain was falling at a rate of 2  to 3 inches per hour. 

Localized flooding of low lying and poor  drainage areas can be expected. 

Locations in the advisory include but are not limited to Paauilo, Waipio Valley, Kukuihaele, Hawi, Pepeekeo, Kamuela,  Kawaihae, Honokaa, Laupahoehoe, Pololu Valley, Ookala and Kohala  Ranch.
