The anticipated first trailer for Disney’s animated “Moana” was revealed Sunday.

It’s the first time the public is seeing the main characters, Maui and Moana, in action. The shape-shifting demigod Maui is voiced by Dwayne Johnson and Moana by Hawaii teenager Auli’i Cravalho.

We also see a couple of other characters in the trailer — a moving tattoo on Maui’s chest and Moana’s pet pig, named Pua.

Their open-sea adventures are part of the story of Princess Moana Waialiki, the only daughter of a chief who is determined to be a master navigator with the help, of course, by Maui.

The trailer also features one of the original songs in the movie, “We Know the Way,” written by New Zealand singer-songwriter Opetaia Foa’i, “Lion King” composer Mark Mancina, and Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda from the smash hit “Hamilton.”

“Moana” is directed by John Musker and Ron Clements, who last worked together on 2009’s “The Princess and the Frog.”

The movie open in wide release nationwide on Thanksgiving, Nov. 23
