A series of low pressure storm systems have disrupted the trades since the beginning of April.
With the passage of a storm front Thursday night, trades (northeast winds) will begin to return to the islands. Once established Friday, the trade wind flow could last for at least a week.
Showers will begin to focus over windward areas this weekend.
On Friday and Saturday showers will be prevalent over windward portions of Hawaii Island and Maui. By Sunday windward showers could spread back into Oahu and Kauai.
Skies are expected to be mostly cloudy through Monday.
