A Hawaiian Airlines flight from Honolulu to Los Angeles was forced to divert back to the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport Tuesday.
A spokesman for the company says the flight left for Los Angeles at 2:50 p.m. Hawaii time.
Approximately two hours into the flight, the captain chose to return the aircraft to Honolulu due to two unruly passengers.
“I don’t know if it was wife or girlfriend, but was like ‘Don’t talk to her like that, you shouldn’t talk to her like that’,” passenger Stanson Chung said. “And then the guy said, ‘Don’t you talk to me like that’ and that kinda triggered him to charge him or something.”
Local law enforcement met the aircraft when it arrived in Honolulu at 6:38 p.m.
KHON2 learned some flight attendants suffered minor injuries.
There were 276 passengers and 11 crew onboard.
Passengers left for Los Angeles at 8 p.m.
