Federal Emergency Management Agency in Hawaii ahead of Olivia

News

Don’t be complacent ahead of the storm.

That’s the message from the Federal Emergency Management Agency Monday.

Federal teams are already in Hawaii, working side-by-side with state and county officials to ensure the state is prepared for any and all severe-weather scenarios.

Liaison officers are being deployed to each county. Commodities like food, water, and generators have been staged, and urban search-and-rescue and disaster medical teams are standing by.

Residents are urged to be prepared and have disaster plans in place before Olivia hits.

In addition to our newscasts, KHON2 will air hourly updates on Tropical Storm Olivia on-air and online through the 11 p.m. update from the Central Pacific Hurricane Center.
