A single-vehicle crash on Kaumualii Highway late Thursday night in Kipu shut down the highway for several hours.
Shortly before midnight, a Ford pickup truck was traveling west on Kaumualii Highway, between Anonui Street and Puhi Road, when it veered off the road and struck a telephone pole along the westbound shoulder.
The pole fell over the road, causing the highway to be closed in both directions.
The 52-year-old female truck driver was not hurt.
A crew from Hawaiian Telcom had to replace the pole.
Traffic was diverted onto Puhi Road and the Kipu Bypass Road until work wrapped at 8:30 a.m.
